T180 Pick Up From Low Rpm

Hi

Recently bought an Avensis 2.2 T180 on a 56 plate

i have noticed there seems to be a problem when trying to accelerate from low rpm , say between 1000 / 1500 rpm

if i keep revs high or drop down a gear it picks up ok , i would expect car to pull away easily in 2nd or 3rd gear at low revs

any advice would be appreciated

regards

shaun

hello

what is total miles covered since yr last service?

by the way -- what works have been done?

however i am inclined you to check with EGR -- what is inside

An EGR check would be a good start, but the turbo does not spool up til just below 1500 revs so you do tend to feel a surge in power over 1500, people often complain of a lack of power below 1500 on the T180 models

Kingo
