Kangaroo Condoms In Olympic Village Rile London 2012 Organisers

Organisers at the London 2012 Olympics are investigating how a bucket of kangaroo-themed condoms made it into the athletes' village.

The unofficial condoms have angered London 2012 organisers

Australian cyclist Caroline Buchanan took to Twitter to post a picture of the container of condoms along with a placard reading 'Kangaroos condoms, for the gland downunder'.

She also joked that the condoms were proof that rumours that the Olympic village is a hotbed of sexual activity are true.

However, with Olympic officials having already provided athletes with 150,000 free condoms in dispensers from official Games supplier Durex, they are trying to find out how the Australian-themed condoms, which were made by Ansell and Pasante, got in the village.

'We will look into this and ask that they are not handed out to other athletes because Durex are our supplier,' a spokeswoman told Reuters.

A representative from Ansell added: 'We have had no official participation or association with the Olympics at all.'

Free condoms have been supplied at the Olympic Games since 1992 when Barcelona started the trend. Athletes are also allowed to bring their own in for personal use.

According to a recent report from the Mirror, romances between the athletes staying in the village are rife, with sources hinting at lots of 'late night activity'
