What manufactures warranty should I have on a 2009 Rav. i know the new ones are 5 Year, but is it 3 years for the 2009 model?

yes, unless it has an extended warranty.

also, if it's a D4D it will be covered by the unpublicised extra warranty for head gasket issues up to 112k or 7 years.

The 5 year/100k warranty was introduced in the UK during 2010.

What tickles me is that new Toyotas come with a 5 year warranty, but their "luxury brand" I.e. Lexus only come with a 3 (5 years for the hybrid bits).
