oil for corolla gti

i will be doing an engine flush in acouple of weeks and was wondering what the best type of oil to use is.

i am currently using Castrol gtx 15w-40 but i am unsure if magnatec would be better and if im using the correct oil rating

any opinions would be appreciated

15w-40 or 15w-30 depending on how 'old and tired' the engine is will be fine, steer clear of anything with MAG in the name as it holds small magnetic properties, thats why it clings to everything, unfortunately it works by clinging metal swarf and particles picked up from the sump, suspended in the oil - NOT GOOD !

and steer clear of fully synthetic on an older GTi.

BP do a good semi synthetic called Visco 2000............Works well.
