Ok I ordered a system from Crutchfield which consists of 2 10" 250 watt RMS Visonik subs with a Dual 10" Visonik Bandpass box,a Profile CA600M 420 watt rms x1 at 2 ohms,a wiring kit and speaker wire.

My problem is I don'ty know where there is a hole in the firewall to run the power cable through or do I need to drill one,and where would be the best place to drill one?

Thanks!

There should be a plastic grommit, or a rubber cover on the firewall, you'll be able to feed the power wire through there, here is a pic of me AE111 rolla, with the rubber cover, (i made a hole in it and fed the wire throught it, then put some silicone round it to prevent any water leaks):

Wow thanks! Is that on the left side or near the left side of the engine bay? Also where inside the car does that hole lead, below the dash or above?

on the new corolla there is a two layered rubber washer with many wires passing through on the passenger side. I pushed a small screwdriver through it and then pushed a larger diameter wire through. I with a light you can look up under the glove box and see the wires.

Its on the passenger side, and it leads below the dash, you will need two people one feeding the wire and one looking underneath the dash for the wire to pop out, I can tell you it will take quite a few tries to get it in, so you better have some patience!

Hi folks

I have the same problem - in my car the rubber grommit shown in the picture above is used by a couple of metal pipes (for the air con?). My question is can I still make a hole in this (in the middle between the pipes?)and thread a wire through? Has anyone used this access point when their car has air-con?

Also can you get at the wire in the cabin without removing the glove box & surround?

Many thanks for any help! I'm getting a bit frustrated.

Paul
