In wars or battles the winners tell lies and the losers dont tell the truth.about what took place.

Take the Amercan revolution.Paul Revere is considered a hero having rode to warn of approaching british troops,but he was one in a groupe of thirty others. he never did give a warning as they stopped by the British before being able to do so.

He was hardly known before his grave was pointed out to Longfellow who then wrote the poem about him and made him a underserving hero.

Some time later he was put on trial for cowardice and treason, one of the prosecutors was an ancestor of Longfellow. He was found not guilty but the mud stuck and he left the milatary and returned to his trade of a silversmith.

The Amercans claim they won the this war but without the French they had no chance,yes they won a few battles.

It was was the French who trapped the part of the british forces at Yorktown under Cornwallis before the American forces turned up. The British were forced to surrender when they ran out food and ammunition.they had to kill all their horses as they could not feed them.

Although the other British forces in New York had been contacted they took many days to organise a relief fleet and it was arrived tol ate..

The Americans in New York were pro British and very happy to be under British Rule.

Tha main cause of the revolution was the Taxation imposed on the Americans to help pay for keeping the British army there to protect the country, The funny thing is after they gained independance they payed even more tax on inported goods to help pay the money loaned by the French and the cost of their help. Its not sure even now if they ever cleared the debt.

The Americans brought Louisiana from the French but never payed the 80,000 francs owed.

The French did not help the Americans because they sypathised with them,but as a means of gettig revenge of the many defeats at the hands of the British.

The French had borrowed the money for the war and were deeeply in debt which went a long way towards causing the French Revolution.

In 1812 the usa invaded British Canada at York near Niagra. there were only 400 British troops and some native indians to face them.As this was at the time of the Napoleonic wars troop numbers outside europe were low.Now doubt the usa took advantage of this.

They had several excuses for the invasion including the British monopoly of ships carrrying goods to and from British colonies. British ships press ganging usa men into the Royal Navy etc.

but realy it was for to take over Canada.

The usa could not stand that the British gave some respect to the native indian, where they treated them less than there own livestock.

The British were out numberd 5 to one and were soon driven out of the fort there and retreated into the woods.

The us troops looted and burnt the houses which is surprising since most of the townsfolk were American stock who had left the usa after the war of independence or moved there.

The British had only one chance of defeating the invaders and that was by surprise.

what was left of the 400 troops they had they did a bayonet attack on the us troops at night and drove them out of the country..

Amongst the buildings Burnt.was the govenors house.

After.the Napolion was defeated it was payback time and Britain invaded the usa..

The usa had several major victories as in New Orleans and the great Lakes which the still celebrate.

But they never mention the humiliation at York they suffered,.nor that they had 3 armies defending Washinton and greatly out numberd the British By 3 to one.yet soon as the British opened fire they ran away,,yes ran away they called it the BLANDENBURG RACES a poem of the same name has been writen..The British then burnt the White House in revenge of the govenors house in York being burnt.

nor is anything said about the sea battle at Maine when the usa sufffered the worst navel defeat untill Pearl Harbour. the usa lost 20 odd ships against 3 british ones.

One time during this war retreating us troop forced many peope in one town out of their houses and burnt the homes so the British could not use them for shelter over night against the harsh winter. When the British arrived at the town they found many women and children frozen to death in the snow.

No doubt nothing was said by the British about what they did too..

But a groupe of retreating us civilians were captured by indians the British found out and did a deal with the indians and they were handed to the British who then released the. So there were some good deeds.

As there was no way that either side was going to win this war a truce was declared.and signed.

though some Americans think they won, typical.

They forget they started it. in the first place. As in all wars the innocent.suffer but thats not mentioned by either side
