V-Matic Engine - Any Problems?

Hi guys - I'm over here from the Avensis Forum.

I'm considering buying a petrol Verso which has the same V-Matic engine as the Auris I believe.

Does anyone know of any problems with it - such as the infamous oil consumption problem of the 1.8 VVTI engine?

Another option is a 2009 (or earlier) Corrola Verso - I think these have the VVTI engine - but I believe the oil consumption problem was fixed in 2005?

Any thoughts or anything else I should be aware of?

I have the v-matic 1.6 sr, done 30k in 2 years has never missed a beat. Never needed to top up oil, even between services. It really is a cracking engine, I run mine on v-power

I have V-Matic engine too, 35k on the clock. No problems at all.
