What In Your Opinion Is A Classic Car?

I recently took my Nissan Sunny ZX to a classic show & was asked to show it in the arena where the commentator called it a modern day shopping trolley! Not only did I find this offensive but incorrect, the car is 23yrs old with only about 15 left on the road. I worry the classic car concept has got stuck, same old cars rolled out at the shows, E types, Anglia's, Mini's, MG's etc.

I remember going to a classic car show in the early 80's & looking at cars from the 50's - 60's so now surely in the 2000's we should expect to see more cars from the 70's & 80's? Up & coming classics like some !Removed!, Peugeots etc.

It cannot always stay as wire wheels & wooden dashes can it?

As more cars are becoming retro, surely more should be classed as classic.
