Oil Filter

Hi,

Was wondering whether anyone knows the main difference between these two filters?

https://skydrive.liv...AAFYsP3h4dHRlmA

When I bought by RAV it had one like the one on the right, then I installed one like the one on the left as this is what I managed to find.

Which one is the best for the 2.2 D4D?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

AS

the left one is original dosposable but the second one is normally washable by means of a back fluid flow having blocked both holes. it is seen a raw material of filtring fabric is capron made.

I would think the one on the left for obvious reasons.

Igor, I believe they are both disposable.

So you dont think there is any harm made by use the type on the left rather than that on the right?. As I said, the car had the right one when bought.

I'd say the right one's the wrong one and the left one's the right one.

Left is standard and is what came out and went back in on mine last service.

ok you know these aftermarket goods better.

but i ve seen such hydraulic filters in dark grey as posted and they serve as "space shuttle" unless fabric is broken :)

no problem then - cheers / Igor

Only paid £9 something from main dealer (trade price- I'm not in the trade but I was driving a van!)

Any saving would be minimal so probably worth sticking with Toyota product (Kingo can do cheap ones!)
