Change Steering Intermediate Shaft.

The car was registered in 09 but I think it is a 08 model, it has the 5 speed box. The splined lower connection was noticeably looser than the upper one.

Hi. I have bought RAV 4 with knocking noise but after few months it has tourned to steering play and it is not comfortable to drive especially on bad quality roads.

Do you think that replacing intermediate shaft will solve the issue? Toyota service quoted this repair for 370,85 GBP. I would like to do it on my own but I am not sure if it will solve the issue.

I have same problem, 2008 rav, could anyone help me (and others) by writing a list of possible fixes ranging from cheapest to most expensive? 🙏
