Auris Dashboard Illumination

Have just purchased a 62 reg Auris 1.6 cc and have tried to illuminate the speedometer/fuel gauge etc for day time use and do not seem to be able to do this. Also on the new model there is no indication that one has switched the side or dipped lights on.

On my old 2011 Auris one could switch on the lights then adjust the dashboard illumination using the trip meter knob.

Would welcome any assistance as the salesmen don't appear to be able to answer my question

Probably because in the 1.33 you had the Opticron instruments, all of which are illuminated when the ignition is on. On the 1.6 you have analogue instruments.

Thanks for that info, it's just annoying that the later model has less facilities

Think since the 2010 facelift, that all the 1.33's have stayed with the Opticron instrumentation, whereas the 1.6's have the analogue instrumentation.
