hi ppl, long time since my last post :-)

I just got an old Corolla 1.3 XL, 3 door model from 1989, 2E engine with carburetor. Anyway, A few questions came to mind as I took it for a spin the other day:

1. Only 4 gears? Any chance that a 5 gear transmission exists and that it would be fairly easy to bolt on?

2. I seem to recall the GT-s and GTi models having rev counters - would I be able to fit the instruments from those models in my own?

3. what exactly is the model number/name of my corolla? (E90?)

4. How do I go about cleaning the carburator, I thought about using som abcon?

5. last but definately not least: If it came down to it, what would you choose - tune the existing engine a bit, or swap in a totally different engine?

....a lot of questions there, hope you have the time to answer :-)

Regards, sw@mp
