Black Toyota Auris D-Cat From Germany

hello toyota fans,

yesterday i found your homepage and forum and was so excited about the many pictures of tuned toyota auris.
i looked at every picture, i could find. it is amazing, because in germany, there are not so many tuned toyota auris or i know this car, because i am very active in the german auris forum.

now i want to present my auris for you.
i bought it 2 years ago from a private person.
it is a mythic black mica metallic auris.
it is a d-cat with everything inside.also with an extra roof window.

my changes:
1.) coil-over suspension system of kw automotive v1 with 50-60mm
2.) 18'' rims with 225/40 wheels
3.) roof spoiler of trc tuning
4.) dark windows and black/dark side flashlight
5.) red printed brakes
6.) red stripes in the front grill, the foglights holder and on the license plate holder for an sportive look
7.) second lamp on the right side of the trunk
8.) extra interior light of amber colour (door handle, door storage compartement, footwell and in the center console)
9.) simoultaneously shining reading lamp in the front and roof lamp in the middle of the car
10.) 17'' rims with 225/45 with tracking plates for the winter

11.) red foil at the side (the skyline of berlin)

planned:
1.) more light in the two glove compartments and in the two boxes of the center console
2.) extra light behind the second door handles
3.) tracking plates for my rear 18'' rims
3.) more power
4.) exhaust with two pipes on the left and on the right side (a individual exhaust is already planned, i have to collect the money)
5.) maybe new lighter rims and smaller tires for more speed, and other brake-pads for cleaner rims

6.) lower arm bar, strut brace and sway bars of cusco

sorry for my english. it is only school english connected with an online dictionary.

now i can take a look on all the attached pictures of your auris to find maybe new ideas for mine.

i hope you can see my car on the pictures. i dont know if the attached files were directly shown in the post of if they have to be clicked extra.
the interior light is very new, so i have to take tonight some pictures of it.

greetings from berlin

Nice car mate, looks good and simple.

I would like to see more pictures of the lightning (door handles and other ones) because I am currently working on them too.

You are right about learning new things, now when you posted pics of your car, I just realised that I wasn't very creative when I installed led strips on both sides. It would've been much cleaner to do the trunk lights like you did it, but I didn't realise that at the moment.

This is why it would be interesting to see what else have you done and compare. I've done footwells, door handle lights and center console compartment light. Probably you've seen the pictures in my project thread on this forum.

Hi & welcome to the forum :)

I like your Auris - very smart & sporty. The only thing I'm not so keen on are the 18" wheels & 40' profile tyres. They could be adding a lot of weight to the car & make the ride a bit too hard ? I've just borrowed a set of lightweight Dare ST wheels in 17" size to see how they would look on my Auris. They are 3 kgs per wheel lighter than the Toyota rims ! Big difference

Nice to see some more modified Auris

The Dare ST rims weigh in at 8 kgs, while the OEM Toyota Motorsport wheels are 11 kgs each.

Very nice car! Your coil-over suspension system of kw automotive v1 with 50-60mm, is it this ? http://www.kw-suspension.co.uk/variant-1.php

If so, what is it like compared to the standard suspension? Does it roll a lot less when cornering and is the ride quality a lot harder?

thanks a lot for saying welcome.

thanks also for the critics of my car changes.

i was one week on holiday.so i can answer today.

@phil_1985: yes it is this suspension.my car is now getting at least 10-20 kmh faster through corners. the disadvantage is,that you loose many comfort.also with the 18'' tires.but i like to have this coil-over suspension. it makes everyday to drive with the car. one friend helped me by installing it,but it wasnt very hard. next time i also would do it by myself.

PS: the tires and rims looked very good in the wheelhouse. especially in the front is good matching. maximum 1 cm place between the mudguard and the whell.

i forget to write one of my big changes.

11.) jbl premium sound system

this was the best investion in the car.the installation is very simple with the use of the installation manual on tech-docs. the sound is much better now and i like to listen to music.so everyday i can hear my favourite music loud with opened windows when i drive to my work ;-)

i promised also pictures of the interior lights.here they are

Could you please upload the pictures somewhere like ImageShack or Tinypic and then just add as an images?

Thanks. Now I can see, and I like what I see.

Please reveal your secret about door compartment and handle lights. You reveal that you have LED strips in front lights, but no pictures of what you have behind door handles/in compartments. Did you use strips or bulbs?

Link to comment

there is no secret.

everywhere are the same green led strips.

normally there are 8 leds on one strip.

for smaller lamps i cutted some or cutted them and combined them to a block.

also behind the door handles there are these strips. but only with two leds. the strip is inside the handle. two little holes let the light out of the led.these holes are so little that you can only feel them, when you know that there are theses holes in.

everywhere i try to do my best to make so invisible like i can.

to get the amber colour for the led, i put yellow lamp varnish on. because i tried many other amber leds but they never shined like the same amber in the auris.

i took some pictures of the door handles and some of the footwell.

maybe so you get some inspirations

Well, that is a secret if nobody can find the strips without knowing they are there :D

Very nice innovations, thanks for the pics. Is there rear footwell lightning in the last pic? Why only two LEDs?

the last pic is under the passenger seat. here in germany is it on the right side ;-)

when you imagine the rest of the pic, there is also a second double of the leds, but i didnt get it on one photo.

i took two double stripes because the stripes arent so flexibel, because there is a cable underneath the cotton. so it wouldnt be really stabile with the velcro fastener and so everything is invisible, when you dont put the head on the ground ;-)

Hey mate the fog lights look much bluer compared to the other lights. Have you got identical HIDs installed everywhere?

I like the interior lights. I just hooked up the map lights to come on when the door is opened. Im looking at doing the footwells next then the storage part under the gearstick. Not sure how im going to do this yet. Playing with a couple of ideas. have you got any pics of how you done yours?

i bought philips leds for the side lamps (4000 Kelvin)

orginial toyota xenons (repaired with philips lamps, because they are cheaper then the oem parts, but they have the same light and temperature) (4150 Kelvin)

HID H11 xenon Kit from lichtex.de for the fog lights (4300 Kelvin)

on the photos it looks more blue then they are in reality, but i know, that they are not the same.

but more isnt possible. i think.

maybe someone found another stuff

Sure it's possible my friend. You'll just need two identical bulb kits to make this happen. Eg. same manufacturer and colour temperature.

you are defenetly right, but for me it isnt very useful to change my original xenons.someone who has no xenons, for him or her it is a good way to have the same light in the front.

i took new pictures.

now the lights are not new.now the colour temperature is more the same like the original xenons.
