Yes Kev, he eventually got into the swing, and took on board your advice. He does a square !2" x 12" at a time and it as seemed to have worked a lot better. He,s still vert much on a learning curve but is a lot more confident!!!! Me I,m still reading Mike Phillips " Art of detailing" and have practiced on my mates old Polo, which for it,s years 2005 is now looking a lot better. ( neglected for years)

Regards Clare

Edit- Cheers for the advice on previous post Charlie

12 x 12 just a bit too wee, Clare, and at risk of making as many swirlies as he's curing......tell him to try 23.873 x 23.873......will be nearly twice as quick.....he's gotmy number.

Big Kev

Surely that would be 4x as quick? ;)

Just need to wait until we get a little more rain. The road I drive everyday floods at the slightest downpour. Here is a photo taken about4 hours after it had stopped raining...

Don't know if the face lifted models are different to the previous style but after I drove through roads like that back in July I had to get a new air filter. I weighed the old filter when I took it out and when it dried out fully and it absorbed over 1Kg water (so 1litre!)

Amazing it absorbed that much and slightly worrying that much water could get as fas as the filter!

That photo was taken in the old one. I remember someone saying that the inner arch was different on the newer ones or something like that... I'm sure Don will enlighten us.

I had the bottom off mine to apply a wax coating and the covers virtually surround the engine. The only way I could see it getting in now is to exceed the wading depth of 500mm but I will be having the bumper off at some stage to do behind there so will study further then.

BTW if you hit water half that depth at any decent speed you could probably tear the shield off or force water through the grill - wading should be done carefully.

Just you wait 'til Hoovie gets his foam lance.....he'll be on here too with his white Pearly Rav too.

............

Big Kev

Well, it's a sunny day here and after off-roading yesterday in the mud and rain the RAV needed a wash for sure!

First got on the Snowfoam from Ultimate Finish on the car using the new Foaming Lance from BK's Dealer

Loosened the filth nicely, so then an initial application of Poseidon Carnauba Wash with the foaming lance and an washdown with a woolly flossie using the two-bucket method, complete with grit guard, followed by a rinse down with the pressure washer and the Pearly white is sparkling again (though not as extreme as Bens one :D )

David, I,ve just got the same 2 Ultimate Finish products, from the same place as you and Big Kev. Without doubt one ( or two) products are the best I have ever used to clean my U/C.

Great Minds think a like!!!!!!

Clare, not wishing to make you envious or nowt, but I have been promised a special finish on my UC by TOC's very own

king of detailing. I'm sure he said something about pearl drops, or maybe he was refering to the colour ? Or maybe it's

Kev the dentist ?
