Hi

I've recently bought a '98 Starlet GLS with 69,000 documented miles on it.

Despite having MOTs there's no service history so

when should the timing belt have been done please?

Many thanks

Ed

Hi. At 69k I would say it should have been done from 50k onward if only for the age of it. If it's not been done it's due around about now! I had my 98's done at 51k when I bought it.

HI

My 98 starlet service book says must be done at 63000 or 5 years which ever comes 1st. If its been done recently most garages put a sticker with the date it was changes somewhere in the engine bay near the belt. I would take a look at the belt and if it doesnt look reasonably new get it done.
