Are you a member of film tub? Paying extra for premium seats at the cinema may ensure a comfier two hours than usual – but one man has taken upgrades a step further.

Hot Tub Cinema does exactly what it says on the tin, allowing movie fans to soak up films while relaxing in an inflatable hot tub.

Rather than having to queue at a multi-screen complex, tubbers watch the films on a roof terrace against the backdrop of London’s skyline, before the evening turns into a pool party complete with DJ.

Creator Asher Charman said: ‘Once I experienced it, I couldn’t help but want to share it with as many people as possible.

I discovered how great hot tubs were a few years ago and owned a film projector, and realised I could enjoy both at once.

‘My friends loved it, so I felt compelled to keep going.’

Fans have already enjoyed hit films including Top Gun, Anchorman and Zoolander, paying between £25 and £200 for a spot in one of the 15 tubs in Hackney, east London.

Mr Charman hopes to take his idea to Europe and North America.

He added: ‘Each night has its own vibe. We’ve had quieter nights, more excitable nights, even a conga of 100 people in their swimmers.’
