Sod the respray fow now jim. And get them doors. I reckon they'll make more of an impression than a respray at a show.

Also i didnt even notice the side strips were gone and smoothed on that pic...

Guess what i'm gonna have done b4 i get a respray ;)

haha, Lee's gonna get the car with filler all over it. Already de-locked her.

Plus it'l save me buyin a new strip 4 the door cos i snapped a bit oof mine when i thought i'd c how easy it was to remove... Don't ask, i like to experiment...

It is a cracking picture but I feel its unrealistic thinking a UK person can pull that lambo door conversion off.

It would cost the price of the car to get it done. (it really does)

I remember having seen quotes of about £2k for the 5th gen celica conversion.. so i presume it would be pretty similar for the '2'....

Just out of interest, how much does a full respray cost? My '91 GT TBar is red and its looking sorta faded, with some bobbling of the paint (particularly on the spoiler). It looks great for a few days after i polish it but then it goes fades again.

Mine does too but I just keep on top of it.

I was quoted £1500 for a full respray at my local bodyshop and he's good too.

I'm sure i've seen a place doing lambo door kits for £1200 - which is the cheapest i've seen. I can't understand why they cost so much???? Do the use hydraulics or something?

Nice. That's the kit I'm saving for. Fensport quoting around the £5k + VAT mark!

Then of course, there's fitting and painting on top of that. Ouch. :(

Just wish I had as much money as Jimlad obviously had, then it'd be fitted for JAE this year!!! ;)

I tried sourcing an original TRD2000GT earlier this year using Newera, but they said there are two hopes... and one of them is Bob. They told me that Toyota only made a run of 30-50 world wide! :crybaby:

There's actually a company in England that are doing scissor doors for all cars. I'll try and find out who it is but they're quite reasonably priced and have done the job to several cars now.

They use a sort of double hinge for it. You still open your door out a few inches as normal and then a seperate hinge pulls them upwards.

In fact if you look in this months Japanese Performance mag, there's a new Civic Type R with them on in there and it tells you who does them.
