Hi, i am thinking of tinting the rear window, and the two side rear passenger windows in limo black ie. 3% light transmission. I want to know if this is legal...

I know its illegal to do it to the front windows, but i'm not sure about the rear. I want to be sure so that I will pass the MOT.

Rear windows are perfectly legal to black out 100% if you want, just think of car derived vans! :D (but i have checked this out)

hi there,i had limo all round on a mk5 escort, and it passed the mot no probs,i think the law is now

rear window & rear passenger -black as u want-your basically turning the car into a van.

and the front side windows-dark smoke is the limit,no darker as the plod need to see whos driving and think your more likely to have an accident :(

hope this helps stella

Fronts WERE up to 30%, NOW you are not allowed to tint them at all. New legislation that came in on 1 Jan 2004.

We are allowed to tint all the windows our cars here, but not over 35%. Silver and Titanium are illegal. Thats here in the caribbean. I guess the safest bet is to contact your MOT for specific details.
