Recon Ecu Now Alarm Won't Stop

Hi all, I have a 2001 Rav4 purchased 4 weeks ago. After a week the gear problem appeared. Toyota diagnosed but wanted £900 for new ecu. I have had ecu reconditioned and car seems much improved but the alarm starts as soon as the ignition is turned off. I have had to leave the key in the ignition with the Battery disconnected. I have tried various sequences of door locking/unlocking to no avail. Tried disconnecting Battery for 15 minutes. Nothing works. Please if there is anyone who knows what to do to stop the alarm going continually as soon as the ignition is turned off let me know. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks for reading.

Hi Jackie and first of all a big welcome to the club.

Have the "various sequences" that you have tried been suggested by the people you paid good money to recon your ECU?

It's not much help is it if that is as far as they are willing to go with this, and if so maybe you should name and shame them as a hint that this company can fail in the complaints dept as well

Having said that other Rav members have had ECUs reconned so may have the answer to this.

Why not put your question in the RAV section, you will find they are a friendly bunch on there
