Satellite Navigation Confusion

hi all,,nice board and very informative. I would like some advice on nav systems please. I have just bought a 99 model avensis gls to use as a private hire taxi and would like to get a satnav system, obviously going to the showroom to talk to the sales folk at these places is useless because they will usually reccomend a satnav system that not only breaks the bank,,but one that is usually a little overkill ,,for my needs anyway. What type of system would you guys and girls advise,,the one i seen today was a kenwood type that was touch screen,,very quick in finding routes and also highly advances with dvd ,,it cost a whopping 2400 pounds,,but id rather invest wisely,,dont want to risk buying a nav system that doesnt do the job very well,,,please advise,,,

the alpine system is about 1300 and youll need about 300 for a good monitor aswell and then the bits to wire it all in

however i can say that both the alpine and kenny systems are fantastic and if used regular then i suppose they are worth the money.

ive got the alpine system myself although use a flip out LCD dash monitor. i cant fault it. never got me lost once! gets you worried sometimes but never fails!

alternatively there is the toyota TNS systems, unsure if your car has the option for such, but every now and then youll see a system like that pop up in the for sale sections, keep ya eyes peeld
