Hose Clip / Clamp - Any Ideas?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm planning on draining / replacing coolant in my Aygo soon.

I'm wondering what type of pliers I need to remove the hose clip/clamp on the lower radiator hose.

I can see "Norma" type pliers

http://www.pvrdirect.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?kw=hose pliers&tier1=Sealey+Tools&tier2=Vehicle+Service+Tools&tier3=Cooling+System&tier4=Coolant+Hose+Clip+Tools&catref=VS166

Or these clic compatibles

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark.

when I replaced the water pump on my Aygo, i had to take off the bottom hose to drain the system, I used a pair of large mole grips, and gripped the "ears" on the clip until they touched together....and leave them clamped. pull the clip with the grips attached up the hose, and pull off hose and let the coolant out.
