Hi I'm new here... Currently drive a different make of car, looking into getting a 2003ish idk if I should go 140 or 190... I've been trying to do some research but all I come across is if I buy a 140 I'll regret not buying a 190 and if I buy a 190 I'll have a rubbish gearbox and won't be able to stay in the powerband..

Looking for some opinions of people who actually drive them!

Cheers

Luke

After looking around some it Sean's the gen7 isn't one of those cars you can get power out of easily... You can't even map it to improve drive ability... Exhaust induction etc all appear to be pointless performance mods as they make virtually no gains in power... So the most I could get from a 190 without turbocharging it would be about 200 probably... I would have expected more than that if 190 is standard... I'm Disappointed... :(

It's only a 1.8, so if you want torque, look elsewhere. You'll struggle to find a coupe that is so attractive/reliable/economical with great handling though.

BTW, 190 isn't standard, more like 175 from the VVTi-L. Toyota were being a little..optimistic.
