Timing Belt On2004 Avensis D-4D - Special Tools?

need to get working on my timing belt change (2004 Avensis, D-4D, 1CD-FTV) .... but reading what I can find for service guides, they all recommend using special tools for holidng the crankshaft pulley (to loosen nut) and another for pulling the bottom pulley off the crank.

Does anyone have advise on this?

Can I get away with my usual 'get the wife to put it in 5th and hang on the brakes' so I can get the nut off??

And for removing the pulley.. I'm hoping my 3-leg puller will fit in there... .

Anyone tried this... any gotcha's waiting for me? undecided.gif

yep ... pretty useful .... I think I will go for it.... for the price of someone changing just the belt, I can do it myself and change all of it (including waterpump ..) ... someone quoted over £500 for this (lol) ...

Yeah if you can do it yourself then go for it! I recently got mine done with a full service and other bits and bobs labour was £120 not bad for the work he did!
