Centr.lock - Remote Control

Hi,

My dad´s ´98 5dr 1,6L Avensis´ remote controlled central locking stopped working.

One can lock the doors with remote control, but cannot unlock them.

Tech at the local shop told him that it needs a new ecu.

and that the old one cannot be fixed.

Okay, but the price is 290Euros. So, does anyone

have a wiring schematics for the central locking, or

have any other good fixes, other than getting a used ecu

from wreckyard (we´ve tried with no luck so far).

My idea is to install some general remote control system there,

and you can have a good alarm as a bonus, for less than new original

ecu.

Hi there.

My advice is that you install a good alarm( cobra or something similar), because its cheaper and it alsos closes the windows , and its ring when the car is messed with
