Couple of questions Gramps;

What is the rest of that number on the side? I can see it ends "22020".

How big is it? That boss has been in contact with something ferrous.

Cheers

Presume you've googled the number written on it?

Maybe a Photo with tape measure in shot would give dimensions?

I'm going to wager that it is off your Rav, and I reckon it's from an engine mount.

You could try searching with the full ten digit part number on this site:

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/

EDIT

Here you go:

Part 12351-22020 (DAMPER, ENGINE MOUNTING(FOR INSULATOR)) was found on the following models:

05/2000-10/2005 TOYOTA RAV4 ACA2*,CLA2*,ZCA2* 11-07: MOUNTING Date range Model Frames/Options Found in diagram

Full marks to Dominic :toast:

How in the Game of Nod would said part just part company with the car....?

Looks like some sort of spacer, and if that has come off the bolt is probably missing too. Must have had the engine or box out at some time I would think. They never just fall out

My guess would be that the securing bolt has come loose or sheared at some point

It's the gearbox vibration damper. The bolt is probably still on car as looking at it the rubber has perished where the bolt goes through. changed one on my celica this summer.

Wow ! Thanks chaps, I can just see the rest of the number and it is the correct one pointed out. I expected to come back to this thread and find nobody had replied lol but you guys have found the part, number, where it lives, and a picture ! Couldn't of asked for more so thanks everyone ;)

Not sure why it has fell off, it hasn't had the engine/box out in our ownership (few years now) just hoping its an easy fix I can do myself

Thinking about it when I first tried to move the car it felt like the hand brake was stuck on (it was left off tho) then suddenly felt free ? Don't know if this has anything to do with it ?

I don't have anywhere here safe to get the car up on ramps or to work on it, will it be ok to drive 10 mins to the father in laws unit ? Couple of miles on country roads ?

Once again thanks for all the help :)

Must be reassuring that your car disnae have VD, Gramps ....(Vibration Damper.) My compliments to Keef McBigend et al (Davrav....get oot more...) for a stonking bit of detectivation.....that's what keeps this Forum at the elated height IT HAS RETURNED TO...

In all seriousity....should it be risked on any journey ? It's obviously there for a reason.....not wanting to put a dampener on things.

Big Kev
