Scratched Paintwork

our neighbours cat has decided to sit on my brand new car and left its mark in the shape of 4 scratch marks on the roof. one of them is showing silver (my car is metalic black). i have tried using autoglym super resin polish but it wasnt thick enough to take them out. i dont really want to touch up the scratches with a paint as they are very narrow and i dont trust myself with the brush anyway.

has anyone got any advice other than running the cat over?

i suppose i could beg the garage to spray them out for me......

cheers

matt

cheers james but i didnt really want to use t cut or similar on it as it isnt a month old yet. i will have a look at the scratch x stuff first.

i know autoglym do a mild t cut as well.

If your paintwork is metallic black it will probably have a lacquer coat and I would not advise using T Cut as this will make the lacquer coat go matt. Trust me I have done this!

The best bet is to start off with the previously mentioned scratch hiding products. Also you can buy touch in wax like products that fill in the scratch.

I have used the touch up paints before, mainly to cover the grey undercoat and used the polishes to give it back it's lustre. Worked well for me.

Good luck, just take your time.

Hi everyone.

Here in Portugal Toyota has a service for small scratches that is very cheap, they just retoutch the car.
