Chip Tuning The Rav4 ? And Other Questions ...

Does anyone have some links to companies that do ECU upgrades for the Rav4 ?

I've just got a 1994 Rav and I'm interested in seeing what tweaks are available.

Also does anyone know how I can wire in a second Battery ? I want to do some camping and have a portable 12V fridge with me (don't want to slum it too much!) a second Battery should help prolong things.

Also on the shopping list are some nice anti-social bull bars (bugger pedestrians I'm fed up with people bumping my cars! I want something to rip through other cars like tissue ;-)

What other interesting add-ons are available ?

Try www.formula4x4.co.uk for add-ons - I have got a few bits on order for my 1996 Rav. If you find any info out about chipping it let me know as I am interested in doing mine.

Not a bad website that ... be nicer if they said what fitted to what car :-)

The only ECU upgrade I've seen is from http://www.superchips.co.uk not sure it's really worth the effort or money plus I've not heard many good things about the company (a few years back when I had a Lotus elise)

I'll ask around about down here (I'm in New Zealand), stacks of Japanese car modders around.

Does anyone know of the stock alternator in the Rav can cope with charging two batteries in parallel ?

I ordered one of the catalogues from formula4x4 and in there they tell you what fits what car and are quite informative, but unfortunately not too fast at sending your order out.

I had a look at superchips website and have discovered that they are only about 6 miles up the road from me, but as you say it is probably not worth it - £300 for another 5bhp!! I think when I have the need for speed I will just take my Supra out - that already has the extra hp!
