Told To Replace Throttle Engine After Check Engine Warning

Hi all,

new in this club, only discovered it existed after a bit of google-ing while waiting for a lift... and finding it a great forum!

Now for the question, is it normal that I have to replace the throttle engine for that fault.

The warning appeared for the first time ever in five years so I got alarmed and stopped. Drove off again but this time the car was doing little shakes so I decided to stop and get it towed away to the nearst Toyota garage.

Now I am told it will require €170 new throttle engine is this excessive?

I drive a 2008 Auris 1.4 Diesel

I have seen these for £100 used so 170 Euros is reasonable.. always best getting new parts.
