Gear Knob

I really need to change the gear knob as it's badly worn. Whoever had the car prior to me must have had ring/s on their left hand as the whole top bit is worn away and quite rough, and generally looks tatty. Rest of the interior is immaculate. I've looked around the net and apart from one on eBay which was about £50 I can;t find one. All there seems to be are tacky generic replacements. I'm guessing that a genuine Toyota replacement is going to be in the £50 bracket...seems excessive for what it is. Any ideas?

Have you got a photo?

.......or something really daft like a description of what Rav you actually have, coz I know a particularly handsome Scotsman who has wan brand new in stock for a 4.3....the leather silver topped one.

WHoops! Yes I should really have given a few clues as to what bleeding vehicle I'm talking about....it's a XTR D-4D 2.2 2007. Not sure if it's the same as is on a 2.3 but it is leather with a silver top. Can post photo up tomorrow. What sort of price are we looking at?

Any offer over 29.99 to include postage to that England will be gratefully received by a wee doctor's busted Rav in Malawi....!!! Who told you an official Toyota one was only 50gbp mucker? Not last time I saw a price from Kingo.......

Well at £30 that sounds a lot more interesting. I'd searched various sites and eBay and there weren't many new ones around and the ones that were for sale were near the £50 mark.

I am looking to change mine as well and was quoted the £70 for a T180 gearknob. Was also quoted around £10 for just the silver top part but the dealer never got back to me as they said it had been ordered. Let me know if anyone has a new one.

Naa Kevster im still with AOL. i aint had an e mail from you??? Yeah Parts King. one question. hoe can Toyota justify £1000 for one seat cover? Does that mean it would cost around £6k to refit the car? So if a customer upgrades to leather thats the sort of price to expect?

I have long since stopped justifying Toyota prices. No of course it would not cost Toyota anything like £1K per cover, but customers rarely retrofit leather. There are plenty of specialist companies out there doing really good custom leather jobs

I have no idea how they arrive at 1K for a seat trim, some bean counter will be doing the maths and adding the X factor to form a retail price, Jahmazing but there you go

Kingo

I also have a scuffed gear knob on my T180, can you just replace the silver top bit as would like to do this if it's only a tenner?

Anybody wanting one, please call our parts department on 01244 821031 and pay by card over the phone, will need to know what model car you have as they differ slightly. I am talking about the repair cap, includes the chrome ring and numerals on top of the knob

Kingo
