Would prefer the ideas from you chaps as I know you lot better :)

Ok, the missus, her mother, & her older sister (who has been living in London for about a year and a half now) are doing a trip from central London up to Scotland & then over to Ireland. Can ANYONE reccomend a place for them to hire a car that can be left in Scotland?? whats up with the manual auto thing!! from what I gather AUTO'S are harder to come by and cost more...is that the case??

Any ideas would be great :)

Any of the usual suspects like hertz, enterprise, Arnold Clark if you have those, will be able to sort you out, you can drive the car from one place and drop it off at another. Glasgow has all the main rental companies. Are they going to be travelling to Belfast from stranraer?

You mainly get manual cars over here, I guess cos its always miserable weather and theirs nothing nice to look at, we need something to occupy our minds whilst driving!! That and you lot are Lazy!

auto's usually sell for more than manuals, just check parkers car guide, its usually £500 more for a manual!

Not that i'm complaining, i prefer manual to auto.
