Avensis Recall Tow Bar Cracking

Hi all, I,m raising this Item here again to see if anybody has had any further work or info regarding this recall by Toyota. I am still waiting to hear from them regarding my car which has had a Tow Sure Tow bar fitted by a franchisee. I intend contacting Toyota main dealer again as it was well before Christmas they told me I should wait for a letter from them.

Think it's only for factory fitted toyota tow bars, don't think after market ones have issues.

'On Toyota Avensis, Previa and Lexus GS fitted with a Toyota or Lexus genuine or Brink branded (only on Avensis) detachable towing hitch, the possibility exists that the detachable towing ball in some exceptional cases (under severe mechanical stress) might develop a crack. This may result, in the worst case, that the detachable towing ball might fracture.'
