Transmission Fluid Change

I need to change the transmission fluid in my 2000 Camry V6 Auto. It has 40k miles and the fluid is in need of changeout. I hesitate to take it to a Jiffy Lube type place. Can I do this myself? Just a fluid chage, no flushing.

Thanks

Larry

Yes this is a DIY item.If you are only replacing the fluid there is a 10mm allen bolt to remove to drain the fluid.

I took my 97 to an actual transmission place recently at 100k instead of a Jiffy Lube establishment. Saved about $20 plus they cleaned the screen/filters, test drive, pan gaskets if necessary, etc.

You can definitely do this yourself. At some point though you are going to want to have more than just a fluid exchange done.

The car is just under 40k miles, so I think only a fluid change is necessary at this time. Thanks.
