Britain’s bad car parkers had better watch out following the launch of a competition to name and shame the worst offenders across the country.

Relatives of bad drivers are being urged to send in examples of terrible parking by their loved ones in a hunt to find Britain’s Worst Car Parker.

Nominations must be accompanied with a snap of a woeful piece of parking, with the worst being published online by car leasing firm Central Contracts.

‘Parking is something drivers have to tackle every time they get behind the wheel so it’s amazing that such a simple task still holds so much fear for many people,’ explained a company spokesman.

‘We decided it might be fun to name and shame the worst offenders – and to invite the most woeful to actually battle it out for the title.

‘We will be asking our blog readers to vote for the most shockingly bad piece of parking and the half dozen who get the most votes will be invited to really show us what they can do behind the wheel.’

The winner of the title will win a course of advanced driving lessons.

Nice way for Central Contracts to earn themselves a bit of free advertising / publicity, call me a cynic, but isn't this what its really about :) in any case i have often seen cars parked across the center of two bays, i assume not through bad driving but by drivers whom i guess are fed up with having their car damaged by clumsy idiots, usually mothers ( sorry ladies :flowers: ) with kids and buggies to unload, personally if ever i pull into a space and see that the car i am parking next to has a child seat, i'll always pull out and try and find another space.

That is classic.

Wonder if you could get away with that in the UK?

Because of the snow here in Norfolk, our local Sainsburys car park, parking bay lines are covered with several inches of compacted snow. There seems to be a case of a bit of panic buying due to a forecast of further downfalls and possible shortages.so finding a space was even harder due to people guessing how far to park away from the car next to theirs.

Almost without exception people parked just close enough that the car next to their car so that the other cars doors would not hit theirs if fully opened.

People who must back into a parking space where able to get their shopping to the back of their cars with ease and not bounce the trolly off other peoples cars.

The cars when i was there could not have been neater parked if they had been directed.

And that is why they say you should never leave your handbrake on if you parkk in france, or as I like to put it, park your car, in france.

It does say a lot about the national aproach to motoring though, that a car is a disposable tool that one uses and donesn't "care" about, which in turn explains a lot about french cars...
