one should be careful with that, because I know that here in the US, it's "illegal" to have a video screen broadcasting to the front seats. we're probably a bit more strict.

otherwise, your placement sounds good, but if you are planning on doing custom dashwork, i'd put the dvd close to the airvents if you're routing them around the player, cos then it would also act as a cooling device and you may not have as many problems. on the other hand, if you turn on the heat, you may want to have it elsewhere. come to think of it, i think i'd find another place to stick it. like in front of the passenger maybe? just my thoughts! i'd love a screen, but no £££££

there was an sr @ donny show a couple of years ago, that had the screen where the hadunit is an the head unit underneath it(where the ash tray originally was)

think there must be some special brackets and mouldings made for it.

craig

its only illegal here if the driver can see the screen whilst its playing a dvd etc.......

most units actually come with a handbrake sense lead to tell it when the brake is either on or off and disables it as soon as you relese it.

obviuosly that can be easily bypassed.

im not 100% sure on a starlet dash and how its built up but id recommend you source a second centre/heater vent section that you can cut and chop to your own hearts desire and get it spot on before fitting to the car.

hence if you make a mistake at least you havnt chopped up the original parts which will leave the car looking a mess
