Tescos Horse Meat Burger Woes Continue

Tesco has made yet another Twitter faux-pas in the wake of the horse meat burger scandal, telling followers it was about to ‘hit the hay’.

The supermarket chain hit the headlines earlier this week after it emerged that traces of equine DNA had been discovered in its value beef burgers, with a stream of horse meat jokes quickly taking the internet by storm.

The company’s Customer Care team unwittingly played along after responding to a user’s request for ‘red rum’– but it seems the @UKTesco team didn’t learn their lesson.

Yesterday the Twitter signed off for the night by saying: ‘It’s sleepy time so we’re off to hit the hay! See you at 8am for more #TescoTweets.’

With the discovery of horse meat prompting widespread outrage – and an apology from the supermarket chain – many thought the joke somewhat ill-advised.

As many picked up on the comment, the social media team quickly apologised for the remark and insisted it had not been intended as a joke about current events.

Tesco has apologised for the horse meat scandal – and its Twitter faux-pas

Responding to Sky correspondent Sophy Ridge’s comment that the tweet was ‘not the best judged’, @UKTesco replied: ‘I’m terribly sorry. That tweet was scheduled before we knew of the current situation. We’d never intend to make light of it.’

Yesterday Tesco placed full-page adverts in a number of national newspapers to apologise for the ‘unacceptable’ situation, vowing to find out what had happened and to ensure it ‘never happens again’.

Lidl, Aldi and Iceland were also embroiled in the scandal, with meat supplier ABP Food Group pledging to adopt DNA testing in future.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ' i'm so hungry i could eat a horse', funnily enough i ate some burgers last week and they gave me the galloping trots, its alright as i'm feeling stable now, just found a pack in the freezer, out of date and their off :D , i have had my suspicions furlong while that Tesco's were sweetening their burgers with a little shergar ...... OK i'll stop horsing around, as these jokes were off the hoof, and i don't want to saddle you with any more, although i feel like iv'e really got the bit between my teeth now and the jockey's are rolling off my tongue at a canter... i'm feeling just champion, so i'll leave it there before i stirrup any bad feeling from the neigh Sayers and it turns into a bit of a mare. :bag:

When walking behind a horse you should do which of the following be extremely quiet so you don't spook the horse or stand 6 feet behind the horse or talk softly to the horse so the horse knows where?

I found this answer to be somewhat disturbing

Answer:

You should run your hand along the horse until u reach the rump, then keep your hand on the rump as u move around the horse. PS horses love being spoken to :

Hay, I think I'll bale too.

I'm no good at this.

I'll just bite the billet and leave.

I could look up some more words, but that wouldn't be farrier.

I'd like to thank all of you chaps for participating
