Car Heater Playing Up

My heater on the avensis is playing up, when I start the car in the morning it works fine then stop working if I switch off the ignition and switch it back on.

After a while it does eventually blow air.

Any help will be appreciated.

i have a similar problem. on my 2006 avensis in the last month the hot air starts to come out of the vent when the temperature guage comes up to it level then 5 minutes later it blows cold then after a while it blows hot this goes on all the time im driving..my temperature guage does not does not go up or down during this time so the engine temp must be ok
