Sera Questions

Hey guys,

I'm really interested in purchasing a Sera. There are a few for sale but they have the standard 1.5 litre engine.. I'm in Australia by the way. Just wanted to ask, what are the specs of the 4E-FTE starlet engine? Will this make the Sera a MUCH improved performance car? What other options are there for me to upgrade my potential Sera??

4EFTE is a 1.3 Turbo - switchable boost between 115bhp & 135.

Andrew (toyotasera.co.uk) has done this conversion to his Sera so I'm sure he'll be along soon to help you out.

Sera - 1500cc 110bhp

Starlet Turbo - 1300cc 135bhp (as standard)

It does make a good difference. The Sera engine can be mildly tweaked, but the Starlet can be tuned further, for less, with better results.

I think I will purchase the Sera... It's a 91 model, with a 4E FTE, 5 speed manual.

it looks like a Nice one

i bought my sera before chirstmas and i have been very happy with it since.

it's nice to have something a bit diffrent in this massed produce car world we live in.
