Any One Tried 80W90 Instead Of 75W90 In Their Celica Gearbox?

Considering trying some 80w90 in place of the standard 75w90 in my Celica gen7 gearbox.

Anyone had any experience regards doing this?

No

But it's slightly thicker, would stick with the standard,

If you put thicker oil in an engine, when cold you'll get more engine wear, so it would be the same with a gearbox, thicker oil takes longer to warm up, so more wear on the gearbox internals.

I don't know why but Gen 7's usually prefer Red Line MT-90, just from what I've read over the years
