Engine Revs Up And Down When In Automatic Mode

Hope you guys can help. I have an 07 plate 1.6 vvti auto. With 48,000 miles. When driving up a hill the revs move up and down, normally by 500 rpm either way, there also seems to be a high pitch noise coming from the car. I can not really locate the source of the noise. I am not sure if it is from the gear box or the engine or even combination of both.

Hi, I sometimes get that problem after slowing down at a junction the engine revs up and down when I try to move off again with very little pressure on the accelerator. i just thought it was my dirving ! lol

Hi there, lindy-park, thanks for the reply. I have completed further research,I have found that the electronics may need a re sync. When driving in manual mode, there have been no further problems, and drives much better.
