1Nzfe - Location Of Filter For Vvt Oil Control Valve

Hello.

I have a 2000 Toyota Echo/Yaris with the 1.5 1nzfe engine. I'm getting codes indicating a VVT oil control valve (OCV) issue. After some online research, I finally figured out how to locate the OCV, and, sure enough, the electrical connector piece on the OCV is broken off, and so there's no electrical connection. So I plan to set about changing the OCV, but I'd also like to change the small, mesh filter that I understand is associated with it. I cannot find the filter, however. Can anyone explain where it's located relative to the OCV? Thanks!

Hello and welcome, are you sure that the filter isn't part of the OCV.

Sent you a PM.

Regards Pete.

Madasafish, that link doesn't work for me.

Thanks Madasafish and Pete for the replies and Pete for the PM!

Pete, I'm not sure that the filter is separate from the OCV, but, in other Toyota engines, it seems to have its own distinct location. I'll check the materials you provided.

Thanks again.
