HI All

I have bought my son his first car , a nice little one owner Yaris on an 02 plate.

The timing chain is a bit rattly and I would like to change it , I have changed timing chains on other cars and am handy with the spanners.

Is there any particular issues with this procedure on this engine ?

Thanks

You need a big breaker bar for the crank nut.

And a locking mechanism for the pulley _ diy .

And a jack under the sump.

I recommend a Haynes manual and a search of the forum which has lots of prior posts on it.

It's hardly rocket science and Haynes is quite good on it.

Allow a full 8 hours..
