Auto Transmission Fluid

Hi

Replaced fluid at 66k a bit later than the recommended 40k (but never had any problems with autos despite on 8 other cars never before having changed fluid) and I was surprised that it took 3.5L to get it to the mid mark cold level compared to the expected 3.1L. Is this just a case of the Haynes Handbook getting the volume wrong or is there another angle to this?.

Yes it is at the correct level correct when hot as well.

I've heard them referred to as the Haynes Book of Lies before but had no significant issues myself. Sounds lke you have your levels spot on though, so thats good news.
