Hello Aygo owners.

It looks like we will have to part company with our Rav,and need to get a more economical car to run and would like to stay with Toyota.

So we are looking for some advice on the Aygo and other models which i will post in the relevant forums.

Are there any problems to look out for, models to avoid etc.??

TIA.

We have a Yaris diesel and an Aygo.

I'll just say I wish we had two Yaris (Yarises, Yari, ?)

I love my Aygo, fun to drive, cheap to run and I haven't had any problems with it

I have to agree with Raistlin. One problem I had was that the airbag warning light came on stayed on all the time. The dealer wanted to charge over £200 to replace the airbag ECU. But a garage fixed it without even listing it on the bill as it was a connection which came undone. So - watch out for the dealers as they can be a problem.

Some owners have needed a new clutch sooner than might have been expected.

Some owners have had problems with water ingress.

Thanks both

Mrs P test drove the 62 plate Aygo yesterday and she, well we both liked it.

I sat in the back with our daughter and it felt roomy enough and surprisingly quiet.

Only downside for us is that it is only a four seater,as there is five of us but it is rare these days that all five of us are in the car together!!

Hey Paulus17. I ve had my Aygo Blue since 2007 and no problems with it at all bar the starter motor but I do do quite a l,ot of short journeys in the city.

I changed my Peugeot 106 for my Aygo. I used to pay £120 for road tax but I didnt think it was worth it as I didnt always use my car, plus I didnt need the power so decided to knock off a cylinder and get a 1.0 litre car. Makes sense as for £20 road tax and better MPG. Why not? I found the cheeky Aygo only has to got to the petrol forecourt just 1 a month instad of 2-3 with my Peugeot.

I've had an Aygo Black (60 plate) for about 6 months. I had some water leaking in which was fixed under warranty, otherwise no problems. It's a second car for us and it does the job really well.

There are thousands on the road, as there are 107s and C1s. I think that says it all - a popular car for good reasons.
