Our 4.2 has a slightly squeky, but annoying fheater fan. It only squeeks on low, so does anyone have a quick fix, or suggestions for a cure. :help2:

Drop out the glovebox, Ainz, as if you were doing a cabin filter renewal. You should see the fan there right below the filter housing if memory serves me. Just make sure there are no foreign bodies stuck thereon that could be causing yer squeak. Before maybe dribbling some lube stuff down the central shaft, await some advice on here. Also make sure whist you are at it that cabin filter is not wet and dripping down on fan.....just cured another marque of that fault, and the damp was the squeak agent !!

I have found in the past that the non silcone base oil quicker acting in freeing seized/rusted/dried out components but tends to dry out fairly quickly.

So, if the first treatment works then I follow it up with a silicone based (polysiloxane) release oil as this resides longer on the parts treated in a situation such as this.

Thanks guys, this car is LHD, but I guess the same principals apply. As it is also very dusty in Spain, that cabin filter probably needs looking at as well.

Whilst at a a garage with an airline, Ainsley, give the filter a wee reverse blow through, and poke the airline down the middle of heater fan and maybe dislodge some sand on the spindle from that warm second home of yours.......
