What Problems Would Slack In A (1Zzfe) Timing Chain Likely Cause?

Hi all,

- i need some real-world experience on this one............

Have started to hear a light, metallic, inconsistent rattle at warm idle recently.

Had the valve-cover off, and can see that there is slack in the low-tension side of the timing chain........

How much slack is acceptable (in the real world), and what (if any) symptoms would this most likely produce?

Your best bet would be to speak to Se7en Motorsports on Celica-Club. What he doesn't know about the 1ZZ & 2ZZ engines isn't worth knowing!
