crackling/clicking sound under trunk area. Almost sound like after you turn a heater in your home off and it cracks and clicks as it cools off. This happens hot or cold not very loud but very annoying. Any help would be appreicated. It did not happen in the first 2500 mile but has been happening since. I now have 4500 miles.

Thanks Gene k

 After reading about your problem yesteday.

I noticed that I also have the same type of noise.

I have now covered 5000 miles and the noise seems to have only just started.

I have not been able to track it down as it only seems to happen when the car is in motion either pulling away or stopping. Is this the case for your problem?

I was hunting some noises in the back of "blueE" (my 2003 Corolla TS) some weeks ago. I found a cover unter the trunk (it covers the gasoline fillingpipe) that was not fixed well. Additional some parts in the trunkdoor was not fixed well, special the 3rd brakelight. I fixed all this parts and the noises was gone.

Check the rear number plate is fixed and not knocking against the hatch, and all the tools and the tool tray is wrapped in some old shirts.

Helped with my rear noises!
