Hi all,

I just bought a Paseo and will be picking it up on Sunday so thought I'd drop in and say hello!

Got a few questions...

Reliability - My seo has 84,000 miles on and seems to have been looked after well. How much life can I realistically expect out of the engine?

Respray - I'm considering having it resprayed a different colour because it's in a horrible aqua blue. Any idea on costs for this? A friend thinks I'm looking at £1000-£1500 which seems reasonable. I know you can get it done for £200 by some dodgy garage, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Wheels - Where can I buy new wheels? A friend has a Pulsar GTI-R and wants to sell me some 17's but I don't know if they'll fit - they are '4 * 100' if that helps? Bit new to this!

I'll probably end up buying some new wheels myself anyway because I used to have a Mini Cooper and like the look of the 16" light alloy wheel ( http://www.chrisashley.co.uk/wheels.jpg ) - anything out there similar that will fit my Seo?

Thanks in advance. Can't wait to pick my car up! :)

Another new Seo owner! Is someone having a sale on them this week?! :P

Welcome to TOC anyway!

Right: 84k shouldn't be much of a problem, only things I've heard of going are the clutchs' and a semi-common problem seems to be the rear shocks leaking. Make sure the timing belt was changed at 60k!

They are quite hardy engines really - Toyota reliability & all that. :)

Respray: £200? Stay well clear! Should be more like £2500 for a decent job, £1500 sounds ok if you've seen there workmanship & know it's ok. Like you say you get what you pay for.

Wheels: The Seo offset is 4X100 with a PCD of 35/38 & Bore of 58.0. See here for confirmation.

If the Pulsar is the same fitment as the Sunny then those wheels will have a different offset & bore unfortunately.

Hope that helps.

The Pulsar shares the same PCD and has a slightly larger central bore, so its really down to offset. Closest to original is best otherwise handling goes doo-lally.

Not quite.

4x100 means a 4 bolt pattern on a PCD of 100mm

Offset is between 35mm and 38mm

Centre bore is 58mm to clear central hub.

£2500???? Si mate thats !Removed! expensive....

1000-1500 is about right, i was quoted that with Rage paint too but the paint was extra :(

i know some guys in the states that are running paseo's with 200,000 miles so Toyotas can pretty much last forever as long as they are well maintained. mines on about 170,000KM last time i looked

those rims on the mini look very similar to TSW Venom's

My Paseo has 180000 miles on the body, and my engine is brand new with about 50000 miles on it.And my Paseo still runs like new.

I need to get my 'seo resprayed this summer, and fixing the damage from the hit and run plus the entire car's repaint comes to $4,300. about half of which has been paid by the :censor: who hit me.
