A Typo Or A Look To The Future?

I've just been reading the brochure for the 2013 Rav, and I noticed something interesting on page 58!

The section about the 5 year warranty states:

Additionally, the Hybrid Battery in the RAV4 Hybrid is covered, in the event of a manufacturing defect, for 8 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Is it an error? Or confirmation of a Hybrid model? Either way, Toyota could do with a better proof reader

There is even a space for bi-xenon headlamps as well as the spare wheel option so I think this thing was blagged from a global brochure and checked by the janitor when they were delivered from the printers.

So, once again, the USA market is way ahead of what's on offer in Europe.

And look at that 24,000 dollar price tag...

But the really interesting bit is

. . . then you'll be glad to know that an electric model named the RAV4 EV will also be released in the near future, which will run on 115kW Tesla Motor batteries and is expected to be able to last for over 100 miles on each charge. This model will be able to produce an impressive 154 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.

- which is where the future really lies.

Just forget petrol hybrids: they just don't cut the mustard. Go for a good straight diesel instead. Then go all-electric, when the batteries permit, which won't be long now.

Well we could go diesel electric just like the Locos. I'm sure Anchorman would love that.
