Reverse Light Wires

Hi everyone,

does enyone know where to connect the ground wire for the parking sensors?I suppose the red one is positive but there's no black one.I've searched the forum but couldn't find it.As I see most of you have reverese light on the left side,mine is on the right.Also would like to have reverse light on both sides,don't need fog light.Seems Speed Chaser did something like that,anyway the wires are a mistery to me since I dont know which is which.

Hello! I have changed some wires indeed, to make the reverse lights on both sides and also to change the position of parking lights and brake lights. Lately I also swapped the reverse lights and blinkers lol, so everything is in the "wrong" place now :D

My mate tavy posted the diagram on this forum, but I coulnd't find the original post to link to it. Here is the diagram though, credits to tavy for his great help with this!


Remember to make sure you're doing the right thing my double checking this scheme using voltmeter!

Their significations are like this:
for the left tail lamp:
5 is the ground
4 - parking light
3 - brake
8 - left signal indicator
7 - rear fog lamp
6 - reverse lamp
for the right lamp:
5 - ground (minus)
6 - parking
7 - brake
1 - right signal
4 - reverse

These are for TMC production models. For TMUK, TMMT models, at the left lamp no.6 is not connected.

Thank you VERY much for your effort, now have to figure out how not to break the connector and pull it out.

Hmm I remember someone did that succesfully... I did not succeed but luckily found replacement connectors after long search. They are NOT sold separately by Toyota, so beware!!!

I couldn't detach it so I connected to the wires entering connector,12$ parking sensors work like a charm.
