£39 Pollen Filter Replacement

This is the cost to replace a pollen filter at a Toyota dealership. Extortionate or what, it is a simple 5 min job. I changed mine for a £5 and that price included it being delivered.

Can feed myself and family for a month on fruit and veg for that kind of money.

Why would anyone want a dealer to change any filter I can do it myself for a 1/3 if price

This figure is an additional amount on top of a Toyota service. It is entirely optional. It's a lot of money for a 5 min job.

Were you asked if you wanted the work done? If not did you give them permission to perform additional work when you handed the keys over?

I have just been pricing up servicing from the stealer.

Oh, that's ok then. To be fair if you work it out as a £12 part plus 20 mins labour @£60 per hour plus your vat it comes in at about £39 so not entirely unreasonable for providing a service to those who want to use it.
